This meet will be held at the Southern Gateway Centre, Bulli Tops (recorded on Google maps as being at Thirroul) from around 9:00am on 17 September. The site has parking for around 60 cars at the southern end of the complex, and there are 2 venues on site for purchasing coffee and munchies. The Gelato Emporium is open from 8am and serves both coffee and a small selection of muffins, croissants and other pastries. They also have various Italian produce and other small goods for purchase. Altitude 1148 café opens later at 9am also selling coffees, and heavier breakfast items. The other attraction is the amazing view out to the ocean and a 180 degree vista over the Illawarra, from Thirroul in the north down to Shellharbour in the south. Then of course there will be some amazing BMWs to check out, and engaging conversation with fellow Members. Directions to the site;
From the north:
Travel down the Princes Hwy and then M1 Motorway from Sydney. As you enter the 80 kmh zone at the end of the Motorway, stay in the left hand lane. Take the slip road after about 300m and enter the Gateway complex.
From the south:
Travel up Mount Ousley Rd and stay right at the M1 entrance, heading towards Appin Rd. Take the next exit towards Bulli/Darkes Forest and follow the Southern Gateway Centre signs. Turn right in about 2.5 kms and swing back south. Follow the ‘from the North’ directions from here.
Head along Heathcote Rd and turn right onto the Princes Highway. Follow the ‘north’ directions from there.
Or, take Picton Rd towards the east and turn left onto Mount Ousley Rd (follow the Sydney signs). Follow the ‘south’ directions from there.
After the Club meet, why not make a day of it and head down to gorgeous Wollongong and sample what the city has to offer. Great beaches, maybe some shopping, or a relaxing lunch.
If going straight back home, there are a few options. Take the Bulli Pass exit for a nice twisty road down to the coast. Turn left at the bottom towards Thirroul and take the old coast road along the Seacliff Bridge and through the National Park. Alternatively keep going down Mount Ousley Rd and take the Picton exit. From there either head west to the Hume Motorway, or utilise the u-turn bay at Mount Keira Rd, head back up the M1 Motorway and go through ‘the Shire’.
Registration for this event has now closed. We look forward to welcoming you to another event.
