  This Driver Experience is for all members,  It is all about experiencing driving your car,  on the large, flat, wet, slippery, Skid Pan at Sydney Motorsport Park. This event is a great opportunity to not only learn some valuable car control skills but also dip your toes into the world of motorsport in a fun, educational and welcoming event with like minded drivers. Instruction will be provided on the night on various driving techniques/situations including understeer, oversteer, handbrake turns (if applicable) reverse "J" turns and drifting and how to apply all of these together into a Motorkhana course. Understand what your ABS does?

  This Experience is Motorsport Australia Permit 226/1801/01   Read and understand the Supp . Regs.

  This event is suitable for most drivers, anywhere from juniors (12-17 year olds), to adult drivers interested in trying out their cars on the skidpan for the first time, to more experienced drivers who are interested in refreshing some of their car control techniques.

  Entrants will need to be a club member and must hold a valid Motorsport Australia Licence.  This licence is available online from Motorsport Australia. Don’t delay as you must have that licence before the event date.

  18+ Years of Age -  Speed Licence

  12-13 and 14-17 Years of Age - Speed Junior Licence

  For those who have never previously held any Motorsport Australia Licence, you can download and pat for a $35 20260118 Skidpan DX 1 - Introductory Licence Application (credit card details are required).  Download, complete, sign and bring it on the day. 

  When registering for this event, you must provide the following documents:

  1. Completed Motorsport Australia General Disclaimer
  2. Screenshot or photo of your current Motorsport Australia Speed Licence OR completed Single Event Introductory Licence (please be advised that no cash will be accepted on the day so you must fill in credit card details on the form)

  If you wish to be a passenger or a volunteer official at our 2024 Skidpan Driver Experience 1 event, please register here. Drivers are not required to sign up as a passenger.

  Passengers are required to wear a t-shirt and shorts as well as enclosed footwear and must keep limbs within the confines of the vehicle at all times. You must also complete a Passenger Ride Entry Form. Anyone can be a passenger if you are interested in seeing and experiencing what motorkhana and the driver talents are all about. Just ask a competitor on the day for permission to hop in their vehicle as a passenger and enjoy the ride!

  We also require a couple of volunteers for the day to assist with activities such as setting up of cones and marshalling competitors for runs. Volunteers can also be competitors, assisting with proceedings when not driving. If you are volunteering, please attend the skidpan at around 7am to assist with setup. Please complete a General Disclaimer Form.

  This is where our Officials Register as volunteers for this Driver Experience.  We need our event management team, Scrutineer Crew, Driving Coach/Instructors and Flag Marshals, to, Register here and attend the Sign-on desk on the day.   

  Driving Coach/Instructors.  If you are an experienced track driver with Motorsport Australia Coach qualifications or working on that qualification, and have talent to teach our members track driving, please volunteer by register here. You will have an exciting day encouraging our drivers. Coach/Instructors also complete a the On-line Passenger Ride Form or download the paper Passenger Ride Form,  print it and hand it in to the Sign-on Desk when you sign-in on the Volunteers Disclaimer form.     Coaches Notes 

  If, as a Coach/Instructor, you are intending to run your car on the track demonstrating driving to the Club Members then it will need to be Scrutineer checked. Complete the Event Documents  that includes Compliance, Disclaimer, and Scrutiny Forms.  Your completed   Event Documents   will be recorded with the event and a copy emailed to you. If your car is a not registered track car, then download  BMW Club Track Car Scrutiny Form the complete it, sign it, use it to check your car and bring it with you to the Scrutineers.   Note, the information in the Supp. Regs.  

  Flag Marshals. If you would like an experience on trackside with a radio transceiver and light control panel, here is where you register as a volunteer Flag Marshal.  As a Flag Marshal you are assisting making it safe for us driving on the circuit.  We can even offer a few laps in the passengers seat of a driving instructor's car. Let motorsport know that you would like those laps.   Experience is not essential as we provide Flag Marshal briefing.  Flag Marshals Register and if taking up the laps at lunch time then complete a the On-line Passenger Ride Form or download the paper Passenger Ride Form,  print it and hand it in to the Sign-on Desk when you sign-in on the Volunteers Disclaimer form.  When you register as a Flag Marshal ignore the registration questions about your car.  Just fill in guesses.  

  The Management team, sign-on and scrutineering crews also register here and complete the disclaimer.  Also sign the Volunteer's Discalimer at the Sign-on Desk.  When you register as a Management Team member of Scrutineer, please ignore the registration questions about your car.  Just fill in guesses.

  This is a full Driver Training day on Amaroo Circuit as a Come and Try event.  It is your opportunity to drive on this circuit.  Motorsport Australia Permit Number for this day is 226/3101/03 

  We have our experienced and talented drivers with Motorsport Australia Driver Coach qualifications or working on these qualifications as our Coaches/instructors.  We will be running five groups of up to 12 cars in each group so that all drivers can drive at their own pace without being delayed or pushed to go faster.  

  Group 1 is a group for experienced track drivers, possibly have a few Supersprints and are now looking for more Supersprint driving instruction.  You will have a Coach/Instructor for your first run or two but may drive without a Coach after demonstrating your experience.  

  Group 2  is for a group of drivers with some track experience who are taking Coach/Instruction with the aim of moving into Supersprint events in the near future.

  Group 3 is for a group of drivers who have driven on the track but are looking for Coach/Instruction to improve their track experience.  

  Group 4 is for a group of divers with considerable road driving experience and are now looking for Coach/Instruction as an introduction to driving on the racetrack.

  Group 5 is for a group of drivers starting out on their driver experience and looking for Coach/Instruction to drive on a car race circuit.  

  There is a process to enter this event:

  Step 1. Read the   Event Supp. Regs.  and Further Regs. for this Driver Experience.  It includes all the information on how the event will be run. 

  Step 2. You must have a Motorsport Australia Licence.  If you don’t have an MA Speed or Junior Speed Licence then go online to Motorsport Australia Speed Licence  and purchase your licence online, OR,  if you want just a Motorsport Australia Come & Try Introductory one day licence for $40 for just one day then follow that link, download the Introductory licence, print it, fill it in including your Credit Card payment section, and bring it with you to the Sign-on Desk on the day.  For 1 day fill in your registration licence with "One-Day".  

  Step 3. Register for this event, by completing the online Registration Form and paying the appropriate entry fee.  Carefully select the Group Ticket for the group that you feel most describes your driving experience. 

  Step 4.  return here and complete online the Event Documents.  This includes your Compliance, Disclaimer, and Scrutiny Forms.  Your completed Event Documents will be recorded with the event and a copy emailed to you. As you will possibly be a passenger in a Coach/Instructors car complete the On-line Passenger Ride Form or download the paper Passenger Ride Form,  print it and hand it in to the Sign-on Desk when you sign-in on the Volunteers Disclaimer form.

  
  

  Step 5.   If you are driving a road registered car, your Event Documents include your Scrutiny Form.  Use it to check your car and the form will be with the Scrutineers who will check that your cars is able to pass a TfNSW rego check. 

  If you car is a Track car, not registered, then download the BMW Track Car Scrutiny Form, complete it, sign it, use it to check your car and bring it with you to the Scrutineers.   Note, the information in the Supp. Regs.  

  
  

  So that the Track Manager and Flag Marshals can identify your car on the track as it moves past at speed, all cars will have a two digit car number sticker supplied by us at sign-on and you install it on the car windscreen top right corner. 
  

  At this event there are no passengers, just Driver Coaches/Instructors and Drivers and all have the On-line Passenger Ride Form or download the paper Passenger Ride Form.

  

  There will be a 30 minute session separated in our Driver Experience day where club members who want to know what Motorsport is all about can come along in their road car with passengers and follow the Driver Coach in Parade Laps. During that session you can take a passenger in your car.  See the separate Parade Laps event.

  Volunteers   We call for our talented, Experienced Supersprint, Drivers with Motorsport Australia Coach qualifications to register as our Driving Instructors.

  We need Flag Marshals and will be able to offer our Flag Marshals a couple of laps of Amaroo Circuit in the Passenger's seat of talented driver's car and lunch time.  Please encourage your friends and relatives to be Flag Marshals for the day and register on the Volunteers event.

  If you intend entering the 2026 Supersprint Championship please complete the online Annex C Form. This assists having cars in the correct Supersprint Class.

  Have you ever wondered what those Motorsport Drivers are enjoying.  Would you like to drive your car around a car race circuit?  We had drivers with passengers drive in some Parade Laps around the car race circuit at SuperFest back in October.  We are providing the opportunity to driver around Amaroo Circuit following one of our Driver Coaches.  This drive will be a total of 30 minutes during the Driver Experience Day.  The Driving Coach will drive at road speeds up to a maximum of 110KPH. You don't need to change your car, just as it is and it must be NSW road registered.  You do need a NSW Drivers Licence but you don't need a helmet, just non-flammable apparel, neck to wrist to ankle with enclosed shoes.  You can take passengers as long there is an appropriate seat belt and they also don't need a helmet just that clothing and they have registered.      

  At lunchtime we will have appreciation laps for our Flag Marshals then a session of Parade Laps.  Cars with Parade Lap tags will line up in the assembly grid then follow the Driver Coach for laps around the Circuit.  Great family experience day. 

  All drivers and passengers must hand in their Disclaimer Form at the Sign-on Desk, receive their Driver or Passenger Wristband and Parade Laps Tag for the windscreen of your car.  (top right corner)

  Driver Experience Drivers can also join in the Parade Laps with no need to register or pay but if drivers want to take a passenger then the passenger must register on this Parade Laps at $10 each and complete the requirements and sign-on at the desk to receive their passenger wristband.

  Drive Route - The meet location will be in Cowan and the exact location will be provided in your registration confirmation email. Meet at 9am for a 9:15am sharp departure. The convoy will take the Old Pacific Highway to Worthington BMW Kariong where we will meet with the Central Coast/Newcastle Chapter. From there we will go for a drive out to Mangrove Mountain and back through Peats Ridge before making our way down to Everglades Country Club at Woy Woy for a 12pm lunch reservation.

  5 watt CB radios are highly recommended for use, so drivers are aware of upcoming turns and potential hazards. Please bring your radio if you own one.

  This event offers our members and club committee the opportunity to celebrate the year gone by, reveal the social award winners for 2025, and to very importantly present the trophies for our motorsport competitors.

  Program overview

  We begin the evening with canapes and beverages on the outdoor terrace, enjoying the view of the golf course whilst catching up with our car enthusiast friends. We will then proceed inside and commence the evening presentations. Our Professional MC for the evening is Luke Hannan.

  Following the terrace celebrations, you can expect a delicious entrée (alternate serve), followed by a delicious main meal (alternate serve). There will also be an exciting guest speaker arranged for the evening, and a silent auction.

• BMW Supersprint Rnd 1 and Track Day

  Registration is open for our first Supersprint Rnd 1 and Track Day on the Gardner (GP) Circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park!

  We ran this Supersprint and Track day on Druitt in February 2025 and it was popular for Supersprint drivers having their fist competition event for the year and for club members who just want to have a non-competitive day enjoying a drive on that car race circuit.  This year we have opened up on the Gardner GP Circuit.  

  A Supersprint is a multi-car speed event conducted on a circuit in cars that are grouped together based on similar lap times. This Supersprint forms round 1 of our 2026 Championship.

  The Track Day ticket allows those drivers who wish to try out the motorsport circuit in a controlled environment with no competition.

  We expect to have four groups of around 20 cars running on the day, and will aim for three Supersprint Driver groups and one Track Day Driver Group.  Groups will follow SS1, SS2, TD, SS3 with equal time for each group.   

  The entry fee is the same for either Supersprint or Track Day drivers and all have equal track time.

  For history of this combined event, download and read the single set of 2025  Supplementary Regulations  on Druitt that are for both groups and the 2026 Supp. Regs for this one will here in Feb 2026.

  Supersprint Drivers must read the 2025 Supersprint Drivers Rules. These are tin addition to the Supp. Regs. and the Supersprint championship Rules.  Speed groups fastest to slowest, Cars Scrutiny checked and drivers are required to have a Motorsport Australia Speed Licence.  You must read the Supersprint Driver R.  Select your desired 2 or 3 digit car number and it is yours.  If two drivers want the same number we will sort it out by email.  Number digits can be purchased at the sign-on desk, $3 each.

  For Track Day Groups you must also read the 2025 Track Driver Rules and:

  • the car has current Australian registration, is road legal and you drive the car to the circuit,
  • no fire extinguisher is required, however a tow hook is recommend but not compulsory,
  • approved helmet and appropriate apparel required,
  • no timing, and no published results. Driving behaviours observed.  

  Track Day drivers can either purchase a Motorsport Australia one day Introductory Licence for $35 or have a Motorsport Australia Speed Licence.  Don't register until you have your licence number.  We will issue 2 digit car numbers for Track Day cars, no cost, install numbers on top left corner of windscreen.  

  There will be an Event Master Form that combines Compliance, Disclaimer and Scrutiny that all drivers complete online here in January 2026
  

  Where passengers are involved, all drivers and passengers are to complete Passenger Ride Form and submit it to the staff at the sign-on desk on the day.

  This Motorsport Event Permit No. 226/1406/TBA is round 2 of our 2026 BMW Supersprint Championship and a Round of Porsche Clubs Championship as well as our annual BMW/Porsche Challenge.

  This is a Supersprint Event with 60 BMWs and 60 Porsches where cars are in 5 speed groups that are rated fastest to slowest with up to 24 cars fastest to slowest in each group.  Drivers drive to set their best times in their club’s competition Class to win points in their club’s championship.  This is not a car race. Employ appropriate Supersprint driver etiquette. If a car is closer to you this lap than it was on the previous lap, it is faster than you so let it pass. If you are fast down the straight but are pushed around the corners by apparently slower cars, let them pass and follow them to learn their cornering techniques.   

  As this is also the annual BMW / Porsche Challenge, 25 BMW Club Cars and 25 Porsche Club Cars will be gaining points in the challenge by getting as close to their group time without breaking out.  Group times are Group 1 unlimited, Group 2 1:46, Group 3 1:51, Group 4 1:54 and Group 5 1:57.5.
